Indigeous Day
Prior to the day, all students of the school will need to be split into the following
four approximately even groups:
Eagle - Red
Buffalo - White
Bear - Yellow
Wolf - Black
Because you know your students best, the four groups can be made up
however you wish.
The event will take place in the field between PLRS and Falun School. Upon
arrival, each of the four stations (Powwow dancing, stick games, hand games
and connection to horses) will have an animal & colour on a poster in front of it.
Students can look for which animal group they belong to and head directly for
that station after unloading the bus.
Each station will be 20 minutes - we will alert groups to rotate to the next
station at the appropriate time. After all four stations have been completed,
each group will head back to the bus for departure from PLRS. The total time
spent will be approximately an hour and a half.
In the case of inclement weather, we will move the
stations into the PLRS gym and follow the same
groupings and station rotation.
